Episode 17: Bill See (33 Days, Divine Weeks)

May 17

Divine Weeks

This week’s episode features Bill See of the band Divine Weeks.

At first glance, those names might not ring a bell. But you might have read Bill’s book — and if you haven’t read Bill’s book, you really should. It was five years ago this month that I got an email out of the blue from Bill, telling me about a book that he had written called “33 Days: Touring In A Van. Sleeping On Floors. Chasing A Dream.”

As a music fan, I knew I was going to have to read the book after I saw the title. Here’s the synopsis of the book that was in the email.

Episode 16: Kiefer Sutherland

May 6

Kiefer Sutherland

This week’s episode features Kiefer Sutherland.

So many folks know Sutherland from his work in television and film, but as you’ll learn from today’s edition of the podcast, he’s also a lifetime music fan who has a healthy guitar addiction (he’s got quite a few guitars in his collection) and a longtime love of songwriting.

He’s finally sharing a batch of those songs with the world, thanks to the pending release of his debut solo album, Down In A Hole, which will be out this summer.

Singer-songwriter Jude Cole (also an artist manager for a number of years now) is one of Sutherland’s longtime friends — and his former partner in Ironworks Music. He played an important role in helping to put this new record together. We’ll discuss Cole’s involvement and also go through the other folks who were part of the process.

Here’s a taste of the new album, the first single, “Not Enough Whiskey.”

Sutherland’s out on the road right now playing intimate club shows with his band. Visit his official website and Facebook to see all of the latest tour dates and information.
